Are you looking for something relaxing and healthy in times of stress and uncertainty? Then try a delicious Moon Milk! The Moon Milk is both a sleeping aid and a trendy Ayurvedic drink from grandmother's kitchen. Because grandmother always knew what is good for you anyway.

What is a Moon Milk?

The Moon Milk is actually quite simply a heated milk, but pimped with ayurvedic ingredients. The rule here is, the more colorful the healthier! Because the colorful and valuable additives and hormones help you fall asleep and relax.

How does the Moon Milk work exactly?

Moon Milk consists mainly of milk. Warm milk makes you tired, our grandmothers already knew that. This is due to the amino acid tryptophan in the milk, which helps to fall asleep. This is because it is converted into serotonin in the brain, which in turn produces the sleep hormone melatonin, which signals fatigue to our body.

But not only the milk itself is a helper to relax and fall asleep. The classic Moon Milk is enriched with many other ingredients that are good for our body and make us feel tired: honey has an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect, cinnamon is an antioxidant and nutmeg reduces stress. The Ayurvedic medicinal plants added to Moon Milk also have a calming effect.

Ayurveda and the Moon Milk: reducing stress

Besides milk and honey, many healthy spices and adaptogens are an important part of Moon Milk. Ayurvedic teaching has been using these natural plant substances for healing and vitality for ages. They are available in powder form in many places.

Especially in stressful and uncertain times, adaptogens help to equalize the hormone balance and reduce the stress level. Studies show that adaptogens can increase mental and physical performance even under mental stress.

Many have certainly heard of ginseng as a memory enhancer. For the Moon Milk, however, Ashwagandha is often used, whereby it is basically the sleeping berry or winter cherry.
