Dr Carlos Martin-Rios (PhD, Rutgers University) is associate professor at the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL, Switzerland), Managing Director of the Research Center Hospitality Innovation Network (HIN-EHL), and fellow of the Lausanne Hospitality Research Center (LHRC).

Martin-Rios was educated at the universities Complutense of Madrid (Spain) and Rutgers of New Jersey (USA), from where he received his PhD in 2006.

Before coming to EHL, he was assistant professor at University Carlos III of Madrid (Spain, 2006-2012), visiting Full Professor at University of Maine (USA, 2013-14), and academic visitor at the Universidad de Antioquia (Colombia).

Martin-Rios is the author or co-author of over 40 refereed journal publications, over 15 articles in professional journals, 53 conference proceedings, 3 book chapter publications, and 19 invited talks, lectures and conference chairs. He has worked and lived in the United States, Latin America, and Europe and has been active in both institutional and private entrepreneurial activities, having served as an advisor in launching innovation and talent management programs and two consulting companies.
