What counts are a positive attitude,  openness for new ideas and a natural extra portion of serenity.

With these ingredients, I became successful as Director of Human Resources at the VICTORIA-JUNGFRAU Grand Hotel & Spa.
That's why I live by the motto "Invest your energy not in problems, but in solutions. This is much more sustainable. "

The VICTORIA-JUNGFRAU Grand Hotel & Spa has 216 rooms, of which 106 are junior suites or suites. To ensure each and every guest feels at home, all rooms and suites are decorated in classic style or in a range of contemporary moods. These oases of hospitality are surrounded by all the facilities you would expect of a tradition-conscious luxury hotel, including two restaurants, two bars and 22 conference and banqueting rooms.

Meanwhile, the 5,500-square-meter spa, is a world unto itself with its large indoor swimming pool, outdoor brine bath, whirlpools, sauna complex, massage choices, fitness gym and a range of SENSAI treatments. Any of these would simply be a good reason to stay in the hotel – would it not be for the lure of the Bernese Highlands and the experiences its peaks and natural beauties promise.

With spontaneous openness and creativity

I love being in contact with people and developing their strengths and talents throughout their careers. Everyone has this potential and it's all about discovering it and promoting it. For me, it is the best compliment to be able to develop the talent of my employees - only with spontaneous openness and creativity; without active support.

In my opinion, the hotel industry trend goes back to the history of the past and storytelling is becoming more and more important.
From a recruitment point of view, the trend is clearly no longer towards the classic application, but towards the employer getting to know the employees with active sourcing.

My connection to SSTH

I have known the SSTH since the age of 16, when the decision was made to attend this hotel management school. For me, the SSTH is a very traditional school and always a bit ahead of its time.

I like to think back to my time at the SSTH and I'm regularly attending the Career Days in Passugg, to find new interesting personalities for an internship or a permanent position at the VICTORIA-JUNGFRAU Grand Hotel & Spa.

My advice to current students:

After the SSTH is before the career! Take a few years - not a few months - to consolidate your professional foundation in a wide range of fields. Only then will new paths to higher positions and more responsibility open up.
